Kunena 7.0.4 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

G'day, MAW_Trok. Did you notice that I have changed this discussion topic?
I don't think this is a defect with K 1.5.12. I, too, have not been able to reproduce these symptoms either here at www.kunena.com nor at my own test site. But that doesn't mean that you don't have a problem. However, I think your problem lies outside Kunena.
One way that you can investigate the causes of your current problem is to enable Joomla debug mode and look to see what errors are being logged by your webserver. It would also help, a great deal, if you could report what types and versions of webserver, database and PHP you are operating with.
I doubt that your .htaccess file is involved, unless you have made your own customisations to the default version (htaccess.txt that you need to rename to .htaccess) that ships with Joomla. Your suspicions about Community Builder and uddeIM software may be relevant or not; what versions of these are you using?
The word "sometimes" in your question is the most worrying word for me. Intermittent faults are always difficult to track down. It's very hard to diagnose, when faults appear randomly, occasionally, or even once-in-a-blue-moon, to recall what circumstances were involved that allow you to reproduce the symptoms consistently. Unfortunately for all of us, until we have more information as to the causes of these spasmodic errors (your server's error logs will be most helpful) there's not much that we can do.
