hi again :)

sozzled if you happen to read this, managed to tweak the joomla template to give the forum a bit of breathing space so hopefully it looks better:http://kds.dkeenan.co.uk/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=37&func=stats

just a quick question really, managed to figure out most of the tweaking myself for the kunena forum but cant see even with firebug how to change the top tabs...recent discussions etc.

could anyone give me some pointers? :D

Very nice redesign. You may need to move the search box up a few pixels.

The tab colours are a bit tickier. You need to do some editing with a graphics editor to change the background images. I wrote a few notes on this not that long ago: see the discussion How do I change the background colours of my tabs?

thanks :) once I figure out how to I'll move the search box. Always nice to get some feedback as I'm not exactly that confident yet in the world of web design! I'll look at that link, thanks again :)

In our previous discussion, I referred you to two articles that will help you enormously in future: The first of these articles recommends that our users invest their time in obtaining Firebug for Firefox which will enable them to pinpoint and troubleshoot problems within seconds! :woohoo:

In the case of the search input box on you modified Beez template, locate the following line in the Beez layout.css file (at around line 208) and change the part I've marked in red below:

#header form .inputbox {
background:none repeat scroll 0 0 #FFFFFF;
font-weight:bold;
margin: 2px 5px 5px 0 !important;
padding:0 0 0 2px;
width:10em;
}

The second item I referred to, enabling Joomla SEO, is not just that it will give your page URLs that "human friendly look", it is also an important security development that prevents people easily hacking into your website.

Of course, these are just my recommendations that you can choose to ignore. :)
