i used the forum back forth as i came from the days of phpnuke and phpbb forum... and tested everything in between for the most part..

i used kunena or FB as i wanted something native with joomla and then joomla 1.5 came out and it great you the project got revived as there was some politics and arguing which i do not know what was bout..

i am working on my component for the last six months and getting to on how the handle the new template system.. i have looked under the hood of the kunena and it was mess.. unless you are the coder as basically using a debugger to trackdown where the files i was being sent from to as MVC was i guess before its time or the FB creation..

but the Grid Systems as i just really started to work and take a look at the gantry and its flexible and i like the concept as this may be the the way to go..

i will look again the new kunena build 1.5.11 but the template system as i looked before was something i have not seen in anything..maybe it was smart templates or something..

but it needs a complete overhaul and some structure... was wondering best place to keep informed on where you guys are headed.. because was hesitant to make something that will become obselete.. as there was to many things changing.

but need to get away from FB as you can see there is really no assortment of any templates at all for kunena as they are warned about security holes etc.. in any old things created

seems there should be more focus on really developing a nice flexible frontend...

allowing the designers flexibility with much more tableless and CSS as the focus..

i will look again.. but interested in working with some other on this .. as i have to do this anyway.. as i will most likely plan on using kunena still and not switch back to something else and jfusion..

i think many people have been on the fence for years on this.....

its not worth doing this just yet as when K1.6 is released you will find the the template system has changed complete and all your hard work has been for nothing.

I only have one comment to make: Fireboard is dead. There is no fence to sit upon, only a grave to remain in. What people do, however long they procrastinate, is their choice.

that was my point as looking for one of the team members that knows the direction and plans for the template system... like you mentioned this is the same position as if the framework is all being reworked and recoded to true MVC then the template system will be completely redone..

just want to know best place to know the news and update development on the direction of the template framework..

1.6?? what about the 2.0 the i read before... is there actually already a new template framework already being worked on and being used on the new builds??

K1.6 will not be full MVC, but it takes a huge leap by cleaning up templates from the code. K2.0(?) will finish the job and uses MVC.
