Hi, it seems to me that Kunena forum posts in general, in relation to the height and page space taken up, are huge compared to other forums like vBulletin or phpbb. I love Kunena. But is there any way to make the forum lists and posts smaller. I think it will just allow it to functions easier and allow users to skim through topics and posts a lot more efficiently.

no i mean really, every single post there is like a paragraph of dead space underneath the text. if that space wasnt there, you could view more posts on a single page and weeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.

Yes, I know what you mean. Pardon me for my awful attempt to inject a small amount of humour into this discussion. :side: The reason that there is a lot of whitespace in the Kunena forum layout is because a lot of screen real estate is allocated to the avatar image display. Some people like avatar images, others don't; it's a personal preference. If you don't want avatars to appear with your messages, the Kunena display will be smaller.

As I do understand that most of it is for the avatar box. I am still very stubborn man. So here is this page's forum posts, with the full avatars, and every image still being displayed. On the right is the unmodified version. As you can see, I have made more room for almost 1.5 more posts for every four posts. That's a pretty big significance. Also, if a user disabled the ranking system. It would leave even more room to be knocked down. Currently if you don't use the ranking system, it still takes up the same amount of space. You could also easily make the avatar, or make an option to have the avatars slight smaller, and the text in the avatar box smaller. I am not hear to gripe or complain. Only to open the eyes of the developers. Big forums like vBulletin work so well because its a forum, nothing more. And its easier to skim through them with smaller post space. I feel somewhat annoyed sometimes while looking at all this left over space, and I would hope to think I am not the only one. Although I love the way Kunena is displayed, I think minor improvements like this will make it even better. Cheers!

Good idea. Maybe someone can develop a Kunena template that will meet this need. Please note, K 1.6 will make a number of improvements in the use of screen real estate, too. B)
