Question Avatar issue

Hello,

I've migrated from one host to another. I backed up my whole site (public html/dbs) and uploaded it to my new host. The only thing thats changed is my domain name.

I've got everything to work on my website perfect apart from avatars not showing up on my forum. I try and select an avatar from the list, it all goes through okay, but the avatar doesn't show up (I just get a blank image in FF and a red cross in IE). I have the enable avatar option in the Kunena config set to yes also.


So I'm stuck really, I'm just wondering if any of you guys have a clue as I sure as hell don't...

You've changed at least two things: domain name and webhost. It's possible that you haven't established the right permissions on your directories/files. Read Securing Kunena in the documenation Wiki. Let us know how you get on.

Hello, I used the Fantastico script to install joomla then I imported my DB. So all the file permissions should be fine. Although I did just check them and all my of my main directories were set to 775

And what is the permissions on avatar files ?

com_kunena > file distribution > avatar > gallery - the avatar files are set to 664 (the folder its self is 775)
images > fbfiles > avatar > gallery - the avatar files are set to 664 (the folder its self is 775)

After the migration I noticed that the avatar files wernt working... I then noticed that their was a kunena update, so I updated my forum. It installed some of the old avatar files that come with the update but they don't seem to work either.

Set the permissions on 777 on all avatars, with this it will good
