Hello!

I have been searching and trying for hours but I haven't succes. When I go to my profile and I select one of the default imagen and I click to load it, the images doesn't show. It doesn't work with my own images uploaded to images/fb...(don't remember)/avatars/gallery either, but it does if I upload one image through the option above the gallery on "my profile" into Kunena forum.

I have tried too to setup 777 permissions on folder: images/fb.../avatars/gallery

Thank you very much!!

How long have you been running your website and using Kunena? K 1.5 issues are uncommon these days because most people are actually using K 1.6. Also, K 1.6 is a much better version of Kunena than 1.5.

Does your site meet the technical requirements to run K 1.6?

Oh, sorry; I heard something about it. I'm using K1.5 since 8 month aprox, but I'm doing changes in my website to pass the minimun requeriments (my Joomla is 1.5.14).
At the beginnig I was thinking about continuing with K 1.5 because I have read about some errors in K 1.6, but I supose it's worth while, doesn't it?

Thanks again!

Hello,

You can start by upgrade to Joomla! 1.5.22, there are issues if you using a joomla! template which still use Mootools 1.1x instead of 1.2.x

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

The main thing that you need to do is to make sure that your website is using the most up-to-date versions of everything. This means
  • the most up-to-date version of Joomla 1.5 (currently 1.5.22) which usually takes about 5 minutes to do!
  • that your site template is compatible with Mootools 1.2.4; software that needs Mootools 1.1 is no good!
  • the most up-to-date version of any other software that you are using (for example, Community Builder, JomSocial or uddeIM if you are using these things).
  • make sure that your site meets the technical requirements for K 1.6. Check that your folder/file permissions are correct (starting from the root and propagating through all folders in your site) and that your folders have the correct owner!
  • Make sure that you understand how to use Joomla Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
  • For best performance, do not use third-party SEF products unless you are an expert or unless you know that you can get first-class support from the people who developed those products.
  • that you are completely familiar with how to install Kunena and that you have a test site where you can make sure that, if anything goes wrong, you won't make a total mess of your live site.
  • that you have a good backup and that you know how to restore your site from that backup in case something goes wrong
Upgrading Kunena takes 2 minutes. Planning for the upgrade may take a whole day. It's a day that is worth every second, trust me! ;)

Thank you very much! I have installed K 1.6 right now and it's working fine!

I'm going to open a thread about changing the template on K 1.6 forum.

Thanks!
