Question How to add a NEW Moderator that isn't an ADMIN of JOOMLA

Yes getting up a new forum on my clients website and would like to add some Moderators to the forums beside me(admin)

1. I go to the User Administration
- but when i go there I can't see any of my users that just registered???
- All i see is 3 users But i have 6 of them and can't see a registered user????

2. The only users I see is an actaul ADMIN that I created in the JOOMLA Users

3. But I don't want some users to HAVE EDIT rights to articles just Mod rights to the forums - I use to use phBBB and could put whom ever I wanted as an Mod but can't figure it out..

The users who have "just registered": have they activated their accounts? Check Site » User Manager in your backend.

yes they are approved users..

I have 2 Joomla users that I can't see and 2 facebook uses I cant see (using Jomsocial)

But I'm using Jomsocial on another website of mine and ALL my members show up in the User Administration.

But this website they are NOT showing up for new reg members..

Any idea?

So, let me see if I understand your situation. You know how to assign a user as a moderator of Kunena, right? It's just that you can't see the users in the Kunena User Administration facility even though you can see the users in the Joomla User Manager facility and all those users are enabled; I'm sorry, I don't understand the term "approved user".

Just for the sake of completeness, we are discussing K 1.5.12, aren't we?

I don't know anything about JomSocial, sorry. If JomSocial users are not listed on the Joomla User Manager then you'll need to discuss those issues with the developers of JomSocial.

I would try the Synchronize Users facility. Let us know how you get on.

1. Yes I need to assign a new user a a MOD of Kunena.

2. Yes I can see any NEW signup in the Kunena User Administration - But can see all the new users in Joomla Users..

3. Yes i'm using 1.5.12

4. Not sure why Jomsocail would not show them - As when you register it makes the account up in Joomla Users. But as i see Kunena uses JomSocail on here so it SHOULD work fine..

5. I have tried to Sync but not sure what BUTTONS to click on.... if you can tell me what ones i will do so.. as some dont' make sense to me and don't want to delete anything.

Synch users doesn't delete anything. It's harmless.

I agree with you, the Wiki article isn't very well written but the essential information is there (even if it hasn't been updated to show the improvements made with K 1.5.12. Use Kunena Forum » Synchronize Users[/b: check all checkboxes and then click Synch button in top right hand corner of that page. All fairly straightforward. Try it and then report if this fixes your problem.

As far as JomSocial features are concerned, you should address your questions to the JomSocial support forum.
