After upgrading to 3.0 birthdate in user profile shows a capital J for the year.
Instead of: 16 jan 2010 it shows 16 jan J
Template Blue eagle 2.0.

This could be a defect, perhaps. Does it happen here at this website? If this does not happen here, at this website, then it's probably not a defect. Have you tried with the K 3.0 Blue Eagle template? If the K 3.0 Blue Eagle template does not fix the issue, can we see your configuration settings?

On this forum it displays almost correct, except for the the fact that the day is wrong. My birthday is on the 16th and it shows the 15th. But the year displays ok here.

It's probably something in the template you are using.

The fact that, on this site, your birthdate is formatted correctly would indicate that there's nothing wrong with the K 3.0 Blue Eagle template that we are using on this site.

The fact that, on this site, the displayed date is one day off is probably due to your personal profile settings this forum. Check what timezone you have entered (or maybe it's due to the fact that the server for this site is located in the USA where the time is several hours behind where you live?).

My birthdate was indeed due to timezone. Switched to Amsterdam and it is ok now.
We are using a copy of default Beez_20 template, with only css modifications. So in my opinion this can't cause a wrong formatted/displayed date. To make sure I switched to default Beez_20 template and it didn't change anything.
BTW: it's not only the birthdate but serveral other dates on the profile page:

Perhaps I was unclear. I meant for you to use the K 3.0 Blue Eagle template (just as we use, without problems, here at this website). Does this solve the problem?

Problem solved! Suppose that, due to a lot of updates (started with 1.7.2) and a different Kunena construction in the past, some language files were left over in the folder /administrator/languages/nl-NL.
Removing these files solved it!

Glad to hear you solved your problem. I was beginning to think that the cause of the issue involved the language file.

I'm sorry that, when I referred earlier to a "K 3.0 Blue Eagle" template that the name of the Blue Eagle template for K 3.0 is still labelled as "K 2.0 Blue Eagle" but it has (as your picture in msg #8 shows) "version 3.0.0".

It wasn't exactly this. There appears to be an error in at least Dutch translation file (com_kunena.libraries.ini), don't know about other languages:
en-GB:

Line 124: COM_KUNENA_LIB_DATE_FMT="d M Y"
Line 125: COM_KUNENA_LIB_TIME_FMT="H:i"

nl-NL:

Line 124: COM_KUNENA_LIB_DATE_FMT="d M J"
Line 125: COM_KUNENA_LIB_TIME_FMT="U:m"
