Introduction:

The Kunena team is thrilled to announce the first public beta release of Kunena 5.2, a native Joomla extension for Joomla 3.9. This is a development release and should be only be used for testing; this version is not recommended for live websites at this stage.

The purpose of this release is to encourage testing by downloading, installing and identifying any problems or shortcomings that people may discover. K 5.2.0 B1 is stable and we are aware that people will discover defects. We encourage you to use the forum to report defects, as soon as they are discovered, so that the development team can work through the problems before the release of K 5.2 as a stable product. Reporting defects does not mean that the problems can or will be fixed. The Kunena team is looking forward to hearing your feedback on how well we have achieved our design goals.

You need Joomla 3.9 to run Kunena 5.2, also you need at least PHP 5.6.8. We advice users to upgrade to PHP 7.1.x

The follow improvements we made into the core:

Backport Aurelia bootstrap 4 template from K6.0 into K5.2 as Crypsisb4
Make some improvements and fixes on Crypsisb4 template
Set the class KunenaTemplateLegacy and CKunenaTools as deprecated
Put karma minus and karma plus into a widget
Add on configuration report if some php extensions are here : fileinfo,openssl, json
When the report to stopforumspam is suscessful it add an entry in Kunena logs
Add a method to load fontawesome instead of repeat the call in each template
Add tooltip on some options : on more and less buttons and on search box
Improve categories search results in backend : to able to search with accented characters
Setting to load fontawesome from CDN was not working
Add imagemimetypes check on attachments upload
Move some js and css into media/kunena/core
Preview does not work when Direct Component Access = No
Make ranks translatable
Create a widget to render CSS ranks in templates to reduce code
The counter in deleted posts is empty
On attachment upload let image others than jpg to rotated in right way
