I had exactly the same problem, which is now cured, I achieved it the following way....

1. Go to "Plug-in Manager" and ensure that the "Gravatar" plug-in is disabled.
2. Go to the Kunena control panel, and click on "Forum Configuration".
3. Click on the "Avatars" box.
4. Ensure that the "Use Avatars Gallery" box is set to "NO".

Now go to your "User Profile", click on "Edit" and you will discover an additional "Avatar Image" box. Click on this and you are able to "BROWSE" and "SAVE" your chosen Avatar.

Simples!!!!

So I am finalizing my migration for this website from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5 and still on the testing server.

While migrating and making edits, a few topics were made to the kunena forum on the current 1.5 site.

So before I move final site from staging server to permanent server, how best to import those few new topics from 1.5 site to the final 2.5 site?

So are there particular tables with DB I could update before the migrating 2.5 site?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you for your answers, but still I diden't understand what I have to do. So if I well understand the "Gravatar" plugin must be disabled? Because I allready tried to do that, but if I disable the Gravatar plugin, I have an error when I do access to the main page of the Kunena forum.

Thanks for your note, and with 20/20 hindsight, I can understand how stupid it is to ask you to look at an issue on localhost. I'm in the process of simultaneously checking our Kunena 2.0.1 and figuring out my migration path to Joomla 2.5.6. The process is long (at least for 2.5.6), and localhost is easiest to get going.

Anyway, I've uploaded the system to our hosting site. You can access it at temp.ceoexpert.net . Also, note that the anonymous issue only occurs when you're logged in and try to post a new subject. It's not relevant for guest's posts. You can log in using my credentials - . This is a simple registered user. If you want back end access, I'm happy to give it to you, but in a private email.

Hi xillibit,
not all users have Gravatar account, so if you activate integration all users must have Gravatar account or no avatar.
I think that this should be option in user profile to choose from where to use avatar.
