Kunena 6.4.8 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.8 [K 6.4.8] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x/5.3.x/5.4.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.4
Important note: Go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated. This is particularly necessary for major version jumps so that the table changes are adapted.

I don't understand it either. Why am I not being shown the update option?
This is the case on the live page and on my local test servers, a PC and a laptop.On the live page, I installed the new version in the backend with “System/Install/Extensions”.
Addendum:
Today the updates are being displayed on both local test servers. This is the first time since Monday.

@Gindi :xml files don't have styles

XML often does have a style sheet, and browsers expect it and will throw an error if none is found.
The standard allows for one.  www.w3.org/Style/styling-XML.en.html  and  www.w3schools.com/xml/xml_xslt.asp

Back to the topic, I'll check with my hosting's tech support as to whether their firewalls are blocking kunena's update xml. IF they do, then why Kunena and not others? IF they don't, what is the actual issue? WIll report back.

So maybe a firewall is blocking access?

 
Per tech support with hosting, the server-side logs show nothing about this. Per my own searches in the Joomla logs folder, the Joomla error logs do not show anything about blocking this Kunena update site either.

It is worth trying now as Siteground Support blocked update.kunena.org in 2023. Now resolved for me

We're having the same problem and getting the same error messages:

Joomla 5.2.4
PHP 8.2.28
Kunena 6.3.9
NTS Kay 6.2.1. / Aurelia 6.3.9

Also can't update Joomla to 5.2.5 or 5.3

If you can't update Joomla either it is a problem with your Joomla installation/configuration or with your serverconfiguration. I suppose you have already tried to rebuild Update sites?

It hasn't been an issue and we've been able to update thru J5.2.4 — but since then we've haven't been able to update Joomla for any our clients sites across multiple/different servers/hosts. Doesn't appear to be a PHP related issue either unless J5.2.5 and newer doesn't like PHP 8.2.28

and yes we did Rebuild Update Sites. Still have same issue across multiple hosting providers and J5.2.4
