If the upgrade is not displayed in the backend, you can also download and install it, or install it via URL.
But create a backup before.

I have now got it to work. yes i install all the unzipped zip files. This is new to me and i find it long winded. why not an exe file or suchlike seems a long way round. there are 4 ways to upload an update and its always the slow way. Could someone do something better to make this more usable. This is meant as a constructive critism not a derogatory post.

You can just in joomla Extensions: Install select the zip file and it will be installed
(so you don't have to unpack it first)
or did that not work for you?

Unfortunately not. I have never had a zip file install without problems. I have to open it up and install it in bits. Any ideas why that could be ??

That is very strange then.
Which host is the site on?
Or is it its own server?
And is it based on Windows server or Linux?
And which PHP version is used
