Kunena seem to be aware of the problem,

This is on a Rockettheme template

This is my unsucessfull test - Any help welcome
Note: When Kunena forum menu item is clicked it add the class “com_kunena” to the body tag

• I add the following code snippets into the Template (Supra) administration
Extensions > Templates > Styles > Base Outline > Page Settings > Atoms > Custom CSS / JS in the Inline Javascript section

Saddly they don’t work even if I place them (or not) before the Before </body> tag

Note: My menu item button for the forum is;
<li class="g-menu-item g-menu-item-640 g-menu-item-type-alias g-standard">
        <a class="g-menu-item-container" href="/Joomlagraf/graf3/index.php/forum-menu-fr">
            span class="g-menu-item-content">
                    <span class="g-menu-item-title">Forum</span>
            </span>
        </a>
  </li>

Script I try... Obviously I’m not a champion in javascript coding...

Script one:
document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', function() {
  if($(‘body’).hasClass(“com_kunena”))
     $(“li.g-menu-item-640).addClass(“active”);
});

Script two:
document.addEventListener(‘load’, function() {
  if($(‘body’).hasClass(“com_kunena”))
     $(“li.g-menu-item-640).addClass(“active”);
});

Any help is welcome :P
