Merged Fatal Error: Cannot pass parameter 2 by reference in components/com_kunena/lib/kunena.file.class.1.6.php on line 60
In an ideal world, the guys who invented the world-wide web would not have a single catch-all error called "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" but would, instead, have 500,000 sub-categories of this error to describe the cause of the fault. Whether it's laziness or not, we have to deal with the fact that diagnosing this kind of "I don't know what causes this problem, but I'm not going to do anything more except to tell you that I have an error somewhere and you figure it out" kind of message. Fortunately, Joomla helps a little.
As I have written on hundreds of occasions in this forum, when we see a topic that has as its subject, "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" we wonder if people actually search the forum to look at what else has been written about the subject.
A few moments ago I wrote this, elsewhere:
I suspect that you will find the additional information that you get will show that your problem has been asked and answered before. We will know more when you have the additional information.sozzled wrote: To diagnose HTTP 500 Internal Server Errors, please read HTTP 500 Internal Server Error
The important thing is to find out the cause of the HTTP 500 Internal Server Error and, by enabling Kunena debug mode, you should be able to find that out.

Actually I have done the searching for answers, and turned on the Joomla & Kunena debug messages.
Not much help, so far.
The problem in the simple site ( Joomla 2.5.6 + Kunena 2.0.0 ) is:
- Kunena access from main menu ( not logged in) - no problem
- Kunena access after login - 500 error message, no other messages on my host.
Appreciate any other ideas? / jph

Joomla: Global Configuration > Server: : Error Reporting - Maximum
Kunena: Configuration > General : Enable Debug Mode = Yes
( and the top-of screen message: "Warning: Kunena Debug Mode has been turned on!"
I hope I'm not missing something in these settings.
Anyway - you can sign into the admin backend with the same username/password.
Thanks again. / JPH

I have joomla 2.5.6 and maybe that could be the problem? I have my SEF on and .htaccess already in place.
So i had to uninstall and use the 1.7 version which is working just fine.
Should i wait for the next upgrade or is there a fix for this problem?

In my case I changed the code in file, BTW if I remember correctly it was just a remove "&". Anyway I am still getting the error but randomly. What I know is that deleting cookie make forum available again. BUT error happens again... and again.
