Kunena 5.2 Beta 1 Released (24 Sep 2020)

The Kunena team is thrilled to announce the first public beta release of Kunena 5.2, a native Joomla extension for Joomla 3.9. This is a development release and should be only be used for testing; this version is not recommended for live websites at this stage.

The purpose of this release is to encourage testing by downloading, installing and identifying any problems or shortcomings that people may discover. K 5.2.0 B1 is stable and we are aware that people will discover defects. We encourage you to use the forum to report defects, as soon as they are discovered, so that the development team can work through the problems before the release of K 5.1 as a stable product. Reporting defects does not mean that the problems can or will be fixed. The Kunena team is looking forward to hearing your feedback on how well we have achieved our design goals.

The error code HTTP 500 Internal Server Error is a general-purpose message this indicates a general error in a web application. Please note that there is no general solution for this general error. You should first read HTTP 500 Internal Server Error before posting in this category.

Many of the topics posted in this category cover the same problems over and over again. Most people who post "I have a 'fatal error'" do not search the forum before they post their request for help. When you browse this category you will find that most people only use exactly the same subject which does not describe anything about their problems.

Many of the subjects in this category are often hijacked by other users or they diverge into a multitude of other (often unrelated) issues. It is often impossible to know if the original problem(s) was/were ever fixed.

99% of HTTP 500 Internal Server Errors are unique to each person reporting the problem. 99% of these errors are also caused by factors that are external to Kunena - factors that result in Kunena not working.

(1) Attempting to run Kunena without sufficient PHP memory;
(2) Attempting to run Kunena on an unsupported Joomla platform;
(3) Attempting to run unsupported older add-ons that do not work with the currently installed version of Kunena.
(4) Badly written, buggy defective Joomla extensions on Kunena pages
(5) Problems unrelated to Kunena ... but let's ask at the Kunena forum anyway;
(6) Problems caused by an incomplete Joomla installation or a partially-completed or corrupted installation of Kunena software;
(7) Problems caused by folder/file permissions
(8) Problems caused by the person who has hacked, modified or changed the original Kunena source.

1% of all fatal errors reported are the result of defects in Kunena source code.
