I have a forum with the latest news and updates. Everyone has access but I want only administrators and moderators are able to post messages. What are the correct permissions? I use Kunena 1.5.12.

Hello,

If i understand right, you want let the admins and mods write messages, but the normal users can only read the messages. So, this isn't possible actually, maybe in the future version this will be available.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

I'm trying to build a clan site and one of things i need for a forum is the ability to give registered clan members access to a private forum with out giving them power over joomla articles.

Basically I wanna be able to make a Group or Rank that lets them see Member Discussion category forum when they login but not allow normal registered users to see it. If some one can enlighten me on how to get this done that would be great.

G'day, Rollen, welcome to Kunena and thank you for your very good question.

Unfortunately I don't have a very good answer for you, but the previous messages posted in the topic - I merged your question, BTW - may give you some clues as to why this is not easily achievable in the immediate time frame.

You might also be interested in a discussion on a slightly related subject: Is there a way to set user restrictions based on forum-user posting options? Unfortunately, also, for the time being, the answer is basically the same as we've written before.
