Kunena 6.4.7 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.7[K 6.4.7] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x/5.3.x/5.4.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.4
Important note: Go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated. This is particularly necessary for major version jumps so that the table changes are adapted.

This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised third-party extensions (e.g. JomSocial, Community Builder, etc.) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.

This category may also contain a few topics relating to K 1.6 that may have been moved here possibly by mistake.

The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural differences between K 1.6 and K 1.7, the ideas in these topics may not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

haha... I agree but check your email when you have a moment!

Also, UserList... I feel that they are a bit primitive in Community Builder so I am working on a new solution for this that adds some additional functionality. It should be ready in the next 3 - 4 weeks. I can not disclose the details just yet but I think people will be happy with it.

The biggest functional loss that I see with ALL of these communities is a lack of templating. Why is it that Joomla! has such a nice, advanced templating capability but these do not? Community Builder I assumed would have done this already but is lacking. Hell.. I may work on this myself.. couldn't be that hard. Its easy enough to manipulate the default templates to do what I have already done.

You mentioned community driven code.. which is great don't get me wrong. But... if your wanting to run a successful, money making website that is going to be in high demand and not just a hobby site then you have to have the BEST of the BEST! Today it maybe supergroups in my mind and then tomorrow someone else may release something else. That is why the JED (Joomla Extension Directory) is such a valuable tool.... would be nice if "NEW" extensions were updated daily however... lol! Also... I am disapointed that the JED removed all NON-GPL extensions from the directory.... 2000+ extensions gone in a matter of days. If nothing it was a valuable resource for people who needed to be point in the right direction.

One thing I can say that I LOVE about Joomla! is the friendships, and ability to learn from others. I give thanks to anyone who has taught me something or given me the opportunity to teach them.

Also, I share that point of view from you, of marring no one (except kunena ;)), that's why I'm reticent to spend money on something, that tomorrow I might stop using, extensions are not specially cheap :D

I was hugely dissapointed with Jmsocial, and now I'm more picky on what extensions I pay for.

For example, I'm pretty into paying for jreviews or hwdmediashare, even for joomsuite that I use on one project pretty specific, but when it comes to extensions that are beta, or rely on other ones, I prefer to stay on the safe side.

Hi James,
I'm developing a Joomla! community based website (CB 1.2) and I'm looking for a fresh template for it.
Your template looks like excellent and I just want to ask you some questions:
It is an open source program?
    It is available for download?
It is a commercial program? How much does it cost?
Thanks in advance.

1.) Yes it is OpenSource but requires that you retain the original authors copyright as well as my own.
2.) It is not available for download yet, will be once finished
3.) It is based on Donation right now... when it becomes available. That may change between now and then. Users who has already donatate for my first CB Template will receive this at no additional donation.

Thanks for your compliments.

If you have any other questions or request please send me a PM here.

Thanks,
James

I have been very inactive lately because of my personal life, work, web design, etc..

I am still not complete with the CB Template 2 but I decided to take it to a different level. You can see some screenshots below for an idea of how it looks now. I hope this strikes some interest in others. Please provide feedback.

If you are one of the few who would like this or are expecting it please keep in mind this takes some time and the biggest problem is conflicting css between CB and Joomla. this makes it almost impossible to work on EVERYONES site right out of the box. So, future sales/services will be based on my installation unless you just want to suffer.

Definitely willing to suffer (or rather cope) with conflicting css from CB/Joomla template and anxiously awaiting the release.

This is a very nice template ;)
