How do I get the forum on its own page with 1.5 or 1.6?

Your answers are getting more cryptic as this discussion proceeds.

What is "aristeer"? and where do I look for a blank template -- and what exactly do I do with it once I find it?

There aren't blank template for download.

So you must make a new template.

Artiseer is an program, for creating templates for joomla for newbies. So you don't need technical skills.

if you don't make a new template.

then you must upgrade to Joomla 1.7.1. by using jupgrade: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migrati...omla-migration/11658

I'll just install it manually,

My host -- dream host -- apparently hasn't updated their version of Joomla -- they're still installing 1.5!

Thanks for your help.

I'll be back in an hour after the new install.

How do you adjust the width?

It's too narrow ... not taking up the whole page and I see nothing nowhere to fix this.
