ok I didn't get firebug because I use google chrome. However I did an "inspect element" and this is the code that came up.

<div class="kforum-pathway-bottom"><div class="path-element-first"><a href="/index.php/component/kunena/listcat?Itemid=0" title="" rel="follow">JameZtown</a></div><div class="path-element"><a href="/index.php/component/kunena/19-state-talk?Itemid=0" title="" rel="follow">State Talk</a></div></div>

I am in no way trying to say I know what I am doing, but should the code be kforum-pathway-bottom instead of klist.bottom like mentioned? I thought about trying it but I have no sense of css and hate editing in fear of messing something up.

I've explained the general principles involved in achieving what you've asked for. The general principles involve modifying your Joomla site template CSS file. There should be no need to change anything else.

General principles aside, sometimes people have lots of different CSS files that are loaded in different orders, or they have !important attributes that override everything else. Therefore, sometimes it's necessary to see the situation in situ, on the problem site, for ourselves. Do you think you could help us in that area? We might then be able to diagnose what's happening in your specific case if we knew more about your site.
