Important note: Go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated. This is particularly necessary for major version jumps so that the table changes are adapted.
Question Weird layout in profile section
On that site 1.5 is installed. The 1.6RC2 version is installed for testing reasons on another site.
I would love to hear suggestions on how to make it work...!! I can alter the template in Artisteer but don't know where to look, other than just more pixels in the widht section of the pages..

You will need to alter the site template. I would get rid as many font-size and line-height CSS styles that I could. I would look at ul, li, div, a, table, td, etc.

I can post the results no earlier than somewhere next week; we're departing tomorrow morning for a short stay at Mallorca. Just to let you know why I'm not responding.

You state in above post "lets focus on the K1.6 site". However, on the original website ( www.loopgroepleeuwarden.nl ) which uses the K1.5 site, there are no problems whatsoever with templates or layout. When I install 1.6, the layout starts to act weird.
To be sure, I changed the template to the Joomla Default "Beez" on the testwebsite with K1.6. And also in that standard joomla template, the layout of the forum is incorrect. The toprow is in correct layout, but when trying to change the avatar, columns are too wide, and the entire forum is displayed too low.
So I'm still not sure what part of the template I should change or edit...?

I have a website live ( www.loopgroepleeuwarden.nl ) with Joomla 1.5.18 and Kunena 1.5 forum. Everything is OK there.
When I install Kunena 1.6 (RC2), the layout is all messed up. Earlier answers were that all the errors were in the Joomla (Artisteer) template. However: if I change the template to the standard Joomla Beez, the errors still remain!!
So I'm stuck at the moment and don't know what to do. I would love to install K1.6, but can't because of the layout errors. I installed 1.6 as a test on www.lebowskirocks.nl/loopgroep (Joomla 1.5.20) and if you would like to check, you can login with user and password kunena. All help is highly appreciated!!

Let us look again at the problem.
You have a problem with the website www.lebowskirocks.nl/loopgroep ... actually you have several problems with this website. You haven't got a working Dutch language translation pack for K 1.6; that's one problem for starters.
You have problems with the size of Kunena menu tabs. The microscopic size of the Kunena menu tabs is caused by your site template.
You have a problem with the layout of Kunena; the layout problem is caused by your site template.

There is an easy way to verify this: use the rhuk_milkyway template as a test. I don't know anything about the Beez template; we did not use the Beez template during the testing of K 1.6.All of your problems (including the menu font sizes) are caused by your Joomla site template. There is a solution but it requires work on your Joomla site template. Your Joomla site template CSS has some very prescriptive font-size and line-height settings; these need to be changed. Firebug for Firefox is a way to analyse what's happening. These things can probably be quickly fixed with a different site template or, if you can't do them yourself, engage someone to do them for you. Perhaps someone else has a few more ideas?
