Question [Merged topic] Kunena Notice: Menu item /forum (Itemid=nnn) does not have Kunena Menu
I copy all menu to main menu on normal users its working but
On admin i see error like this:
Kunena Notice: You do not have default Kunena Menu.
When i go as a guest ther isn't any menu.
When i dont copy it and set only forum link in main menu it is a conflict with forum alias.
Wher is simple HOW TO add menu?

Something is seriously wrong in your site. You seem to use SEF, but URL from the menu is wrong. Those URLs are generated by menu module and your SEF component. Either of them has a serious bug in it or SEF doesn't support Kunena 1.6. I suspect that it's your SEF component (you're not using Joomla SEF..?).
Upgrade SEF to the latest and if the issue persists, tell us what it is so we can fix it.
I only use Joomla internal SEF, no other 3rd party component. Joomla is 1.5.20 (latest at this moment).
I do not wish to duplicate Kunena menu and put them in Main menu. I only want there a simple link to forum, and that was worked right out the box with previous RC.
If its needed i can provide you with admin rights so you can check and help.
Matias wrote: PS. only Admin will see that error message. Other users get silently redirected to the right URL.
This is a bit of relief but still..
I understand what "powers" are under that new router and also like Kunena menu but for the moment in "stable release" keeps get me into troubles.
PS - Thank you for your time.

You are seeing this issue because of we added a check / message for it. You probably had it also in previous release, but you didn't know about it (or we have a bug that can be seen only in some sites). Either way, it's better to locate and fix the issue than having to live with it.

Here are two possible causes:
Do you have custom menu? It's usually included into template.
If you have ever modified files by hand: check that all files in Kunena are writable by Apache or you, if you're using FTP mode (Joomla doesn't detect failed copy)
If you ignore the new notification message you're seeing, is everything else working as it did earlier?
PS. if you have issues with K1.6.0, you can always install previous RC back.. But to solve your issue you will still need to work with us to fix it.

Ok, if i try to link via "weblink menu" any other menu item, you're right.. the effect is the same, link is builded without joomla sef (all are like /component/blabla/blabla.. )
I use so External link, if i point only to site.com/forum i get 404. If i put /forum/index is working as it takes me to Kunena menu index defined. Kunena notice is gone.
BUT
when i try to go into topics i get 404!!!
Do wee really need another router instead joomla core one?
This is in my opinion a MUST Fix, we need both way, why can we link as all other components ? If your router can chech for all those new features then sure it can detect if someone use "the old, classic way" and follow link as is expected.
Beside notification and menu link (alias) that does not work (for me), forums seems ok but i really did not focus on anything else. I need to have it working.
EDIT: here is my site www.pcmhz.com
Now links are as they were just after Kunena 1.6 was installed, so notice is still there for admin, and Forum link is changing as described. Maybe this will help you have a much clear view.

There's something that comes into my mind and which hides that notification and gives you working menu item -- except that highlight is missing.
1) Change menu item in forum to Entry Page and point it to Kunena Menu. Just use different alias so that you don't have two entries in /forum -- that will confuse Joomla router and probably causes some issues with page redirects.
or
2) Copy Kunena Menu into your main menu. As a side effect you get dropdown menu for Kunena.
Back to the subject: It does seem that the menu in JA Purity II is broken and is causing these issues.
We are using Joomla router. We are just not using JRoute (well, it's called inside KunenaRoute

Because of Joomla router design I couldn't get it to work when user had many different menu items pointing to Kunena. It is easy to make menu to work when you have just few menu items like: Userlist, Profile, Main Page -- but was impossible to get it to work when user could make menu item from every category combined to all the views we have.
The issue is that Joomla routing behaves different way when you have SEF and when you do not have it. So what works with SEF turned on, doesn't work without SEF and vice versa. I started with simpler design to work around the issue, but it was very restricting. You just coudn't do what you can do now with Kunena 1.6 -- and we are just using very basic features from its full potential. Later versions will have very interesting and advanced features based to our new routing.
Unfortunately in the current design the power comes with a cost: picking wrong menu item is strictly forbidden as it can show wrong page to the user. By that I mean Kunena showing editor when it should show topic with its messages. To be fully functional it also requires Kunena Menu to be in the same menu (otherwise you cannot see the menu).
Issues do not come from our router, they come because of we use features that are not widely used in Joomla. Many templates have menus that do not support all the features in Joomla -- and it seems that many menu modules have the same bugs. I didn't know that when we were implementing Kunena 1.6. Later I've implemented few ways to work around the issues, but we have not yet tested them in wide public -- and it seems that even I don't always remember them.

I only check the link of kunena menu like this
Forum > Kunena Forum » Entrypage url
index.php?option=com_kunena&view=entrypage&defaultmenu=xx
Forum > Index >> Kunena Forum » Listcat
index.php?option=com_kunena&view=listcat&catid=0
Forum > Recent >> Kunena Forum » Latest
index.php?option=com_kunena&view=latest&do=latest
...

I used on external url with other links to furum. You may copy and paste the forum index url from real site (also sef link), But you don't name the duplicate alias on menulink.
