And before anyone says "oh it works now" it's more than likely because the guy disabled moo tools 1.24

I've tried for 12 hours now to hack the moo tools upgrade to only load on com kunena with no success, I think that doing this would solve about 90% of the problems on this thread since most of the modules and features it'd affect would mainly be on the home page.

I've read somewhere that this statement will get the name of the component:

$pageoption = JRequest::getVar( 'option', '' );

Now i've tried making if statements to make he mootools upgrade only load if the page option = com_kunena but nothing works, it ends up always breaking the site.

If someone could figure that out it'd solve a lot of the problems, some way to hack the moo tools upgrade to only load for kunena

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please no attacks and arguments. This thread is here to help users not to argue who is right or wrong.

As for the mootools hack - its about hacking away a symptom and not how to solve the underlying issue. Even if you are successful in doing so, the same java script errors will then happen on that very page you enable mootools unless you eliminate the menu module with the bug.

We love stars on the Joomla Extension Directory . :-)

Thank you for your configuration report. Apart from the customised Kunena template that you have created - which I don't think is causing this problem - your website loads a number of different Javascript libraries (in particular there are a couple of jQuery libraries) that need to be enabled in "noconflict mode" - don't ask me how to fix these (modifying jQuery libraries is not a speciality of mine - I simply avoid using jQuery on my websites and therefore I don't run into these kinds of problems) - and there are hundreds of discussions at the Joomla forum site that deal with these issues.

There are detailed technical issues involved in your website that require someone with a much better specialist knowledge than me to diagnose and explain.

Folks,

Here's my solution to this. I read the entire post then read @sozzled mootools wiki then enabled script debugging using firebug in firefox. This told me that mootools 1.1 was loading BUT i had the Mootools upgrade plugin enabled. Confused :S Then it came to me. The ORDER of the system plugins is v important. I moved the plugin to appear first in the System Plugins et voila, it worked!!!

Hopefully it will work for you as well. B)

Kind regards
Iain

Hello.

The problem I have, too, with the BB codes. Plugin Update System - Mootools Upgrade is included in the code page is registered as a path .. / plugins / system / mtupgrade / mootools.js.
Reference work, Mootools on it opens. Modules and plugins tried to disconnect, it has not helped. Then I started experimenting with a site template. The layout uses a mambasana.ru/component/option , com_remository / Itemid, 26/func, fileinfo / id, 21 /, it is simple and does not use the JS scripts. But for precisely installed it on another site, which is also running joomla 1.5.20 but it all works. Where else could be the problem? Perhaps the problem is in the server configuration?

AS CRAZY AS IT SOUNDS, and this makes NO sense to me, I installed the moo tools plugin control plugin found on the joomla extensions and all my problems went away, I have no idea why. It probably won't work for anyone else, but for some reason it worked for me, it must of changed the order they loaded in???
