I then changed it to entrypage. After that I can change:

Ah ... I think I had this issue last night (when I upgraded, downgraded, uninistalled, installed and re-installed Kunena). It's a bit clumsy at the moment, but this is how I went about solving my problem (how to select the whole Kunena menu, not just one tab from it).
  1. Use Menu Manager to "trash" all of your Kunena menu items (and trash any existing menu links to your forum, too)
  2. Empty the trash - permanently delete all menu items
  3. Go to the Kunena control panel and click the Create Menu. This should re-create your Kunena menus and create a link for your forum in your default menu.
I know, this is exactly what @quila wrote earlier but I found that perseverance and patience will eventually triumph. In my opinion, this aspect of the Kunena installation procedure is, perhaps, the single biggest stumbling block to bring about K 1.6 as a stable release.

Thank you for your reply Sozzled. I allready did that a few posts back
www.kunena.com/forum/156-kunena-16-test-...it=10&start=20#54268

Did partly solve the first problem.

Edit: Ok I'll try it again.

Let me see if I understand this correctly:
  • I visited your website
  • You have a link to your Forum
  • The first page that you're taken to is the Index page
  • The links on the Index, Recent Topics, etc., tabs take you where they're supposed to take you
  • The links on categories or threads also take you where they're supposed to take you
  • In other words, everything is working as it's supposed to be working, right? I mean, what part of what I saw was only a partial solution?
I think there's a new problem here: you can't create another link just like the one that was created for you by the Kunena Create Menu facility. Does that summarise your current situation?

I don't believe it!:pinch: Now it works? :woohoo:

I'll try it all again tomorrow. I'll make a new copy and that upgrade kunena again. Got to go to bed now. Have to work very early tomorrow morning.

Yes, I told you ... I spent a couple of hours on this very same thing last night. Trashing, deleting, pressing every button I could possibly think of and, just like you, quite unexpectedly, everything suddenly worked. Do you now understand why you need perseverance and patience (and a few grains of good luck) to handle some issues in K 1.6?

You can easily change the default landing page by rearranging the order of the Kunena menu items using the Joomla Menu Manager.

One thing that has me puzzled: There is a setting (Forum Configuration » Frontend » Default Kunena page = Recent Topics || My Topics || Categories) in the build that I am currently using, b 3087. These settings have no use in K 1.6 that I can see.

Ok I removed the testsite and made another copy of the livesite.
I upgraded Kunena to beta1 again.
Removed all the old menulinks linking to Kunena.
Removed trash.
Made new menuitems with the option in Kunena.
There is nog link in the main menu.
I made my own link, linking to the Kunena menu->entrypage
Changed the entrypage from index -> recent topics.
When I click the link on the frontpage I go to the index page of Kunena and not the recent topics.
Trashed all the menuitems again.
Again made new menuitems by Kunena.
Now there is a menuitem in the main menu created by Kunena.
Haven't touched that one. Changed the entrypage from index -> recent topics again in the kunena menu.
Now the link in the main menu on the frontpage links to the recent topics!!
Everything works like it should be.
