im confused?? is this feature available for K1.6 stable? do i need to patch something or is it built into k1.6 now?
Yes, this hack is build in Kunena 1.6. Additional screen with Login form is removed becouse we have already login form at top of the forum (in profilebox). The problem can be if user don't show top login box, if this is case I can provide you file with login form. Let me know.
Regards
sorry @quila im still alittle confused as when someone accesses the forum that arent logged in (forum is for registered only) they dont see the login in the profilebox.
so would need to show this login screen
still wish that i can write my forum signature through a jomsocial plugin and do it from my jomsocial profile

@quila, yes i have k1.6.2 installed and would like to know how to have the login form showing as well as the profilebox. I also cant get the top profilebox login to show either. is there something i need to do to have this to show?!!
UPDATE: i have worked out that the login box does not show because i have it set in the kunena settings > Security Settings > Allow Guests to post/write = YES
If i change this setting to No, then i see the login box for guests to login. How can i have this login box show when i have it set to Yes (only registered people can view and post on forum)????

Hi peetree21,
I'm a bit confused now . If you set Security Settings > Allow Guests to post/write = YES, why you need Login Box if your guests can post in forum?!
Actually it is not possible to show any login Box with this settng. If you set it to NO, then you need to replace one file (login.php) in your template folder with this one attached and all works well.
The file is located in components / com_kunena / template / default / login.php

hmm this is confusing
basically i have it set so that only members who are logged in can see the forum. However, there are many circumstances when you can click a link to a post (eg in an email, from another website, etc) when you are not logged in, where it tries to take you to that forum post but you see the message that the forum is only for registered users please login - HOWEVER there is nowhere to login (kunena login box does not show) so you have to then go login through Joomla module which i have on the homepage, but logging in through joomla does not remember where you were originally going - the forum post, so you have to then go into kunena and search again for the post.
So how can we have this login screen show at the top of the screen when the setting is such that only registered members can view the forum??

thank you to clear confusion
So if you set option "Registered Users Only = Yes" replace the file login.php I've attached and all should works well.
Have you tried?
