Hi

This is my current web site set up..

Joomla and PHPBB bridged using p8pbb blogomunity.com - there is an Option under the tools section to import users from Joomla to PHPBB and from PHPBB to Joomla..

Because of the above option does that mean I do not need to map the user ID's from PHPBB to Joomla?

I have carried out the converting of PHPBB to Kunena on a test web site using 168 members and it seems to be working fine without carrying out the sync part..

test web site is > herehttp://96680.webhosting37.1blu.de/Development/foren3.html

Any advice info would be appriciated...

EDIT: Everything seems to be working fine - All I did was follow these steps here - But you need the Bridge for it to work..

Hi MartinD,

Just make a quick test: look at your posts and another member's ones. Check if the poster name is really the author, if the link is leading to the right profile. If that's so, then no need to make the user Sync.

4-5 posts on top of this one you can find a more detailed step by step if something's wrong.

Good luck.

Hi - Thx for reply..

Every thing seems fine, only minor problem is the Emoticons are not showing even though I have moved the images across...

Unfortunately I had to postpone phpbb converter as I didn't get the user import to work reliably in time -- so I had to move ahead. In general I (myself) would wait for Kunena 1.6 anyway, before converting phpbb3 forum to Kunena.

In the mean time, if someone wants to write some code, please see this:

docs.kunena.com/index.php/Developing_in_Eclipse

Instead of trunk > 1.6, just use trunk > kunenaimporter

I have upgraded already - all seems to work fine but does this mean I might have problems when I upgrade to Kunena 1.6?

No, it should fork as fine if you haven't made any bad mistakes. :)

Hi,

can I ask you something about migration?

What about internal link (link inside post that point to other topic)? DO you have to modify by hand one by one, isnt'it?

What about the image loaded into phpbb3? And especially what about post with more than one images?

Thank you,
M.

Well we're not used to input multiple images in. And regarding links, I guess they are not modified...

Maybe you can try on a separate database and see what's the result. I did it on the public one w/o any trouble anyway.
