Kunena 6.3.7 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.7 [K 6.3.7] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3
Note: Please go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated.

This is not a support forum for JomSocial or its related products. For JomSocial support you should visit JomSocial .

The information given in this category is intended to guide users who want to use JomSocial with Kunena and, mostly, was written by Kunena users. The information here is not necessarily accurate, up-to-date nor is it intended to replace the support given by the developers of JomSocial.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

I, too, am having this problem.

JomSocial's avatars show up on the forum pages when I use the module there, but they do NOT show up when used on the front page of the site.

Please do not let this issue languish (it's been over a month since the last post)

I've spoken to the Jomsocial people and they are less than helpful. They just fingerpoint at Kunena and claim that their latest version was incompatible with Jomsocial, not the other way round, although the Kunena latest module does display the correct custom Jomsocial avatars on Joomla content, K2 and Kunena component pages. Not exactly what I expected from a company that claims to have 'awesome service' and charges people $100 to $150 per year for their product. Not happy!!!

One of the devs from JomSocial has posted on GitHub . JomSocial are responsible for all the Kunena integration plugins now, and I think they are actively fixing bugs, although I don't have JomSocial so I can't be 100% sure about that.

Hello,

I'am digging into the issue actually not sure where exactly the issue is, last time that i had tried to repruce the issue www.kunena.org/forum/11-JomSocial/126678...rt=0&start=10#146073 , it wasn't a success

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Yesterday, I was told by Chris, a Jomsocial administrator ( www.jomsocial.com/forum/profile/100346-chris ) the following:

If this could be fixed from our site, then I'm sure our devs could take a look on this and try to fix it, since of course I agree that integration between Kunena and JomSocial is really important. But, since the problems lies within this module and the whole component of Kunena, then there's not much we can do to fix it. Since it should be fixed by Kunenan team, but they unfortunately dropped support for JomSocial with their 3.0 version.

I can't comment on what one person at Jomsocial may have said, however, Jomsocial have taken over integration with Kunena by mutual agreement as far as I am aware.

Please refer back to my earlier post with a message on GitHub from a JS developer.

Kunena has not dropped support for JomSocial, but rather, we have stopped making the plugins that used to be available from this website, for Kunena 3.0.

JomSocial developers are obviously aware of this, because they now package those plugins with JomSocial 3.0. I think this is a miscommunication or misunderstanding from Chris at JomSocial.
