EDIT: Simply couldn't see the map in the preview

When inserting the map tag I get a link to the Google map and not embedded map in the post.

This is an example the same as in my site:
Unable to display Google Map.

How do I get a result like the one in this post:

Hello,

In preview the map isn't displayed, so now do-you have solved your issue ?

Yes thanks.

One more question, is there a way to show the "Satellite" mode instead the regular map?

I would like to show a real image of a location, is this possible?

Thanks

You can use a parameter for that (without the *) :

[*map type=satellite][/map]

You have four types available : hybrid, roadmap, terrain, satellite

Thanks, that's great.
And with each new answer I have new question :)

Is there a place I can find those features documentation?
Now I'm looking for a way to set the "altitude" or the zoom of the location.

It works also zoom factor.
[*map zoom=20 type=satellite][/map]

Unable to display Google Map.

Interesting topic.

I can get the standard map view to show my location Ok but when I try to add the satellite and/or zoom code it takes me to somewhere in the middle Est. If I remove what I added it resumes to the correct default view.

I must be missing the obvious.. I'm running 3.0.5 at present.

This is the Co-ords for my location, -36.8174635,144.2239816

Can you show the exact code I need for zoom/satellite?

Oh for a neat solution...

You need to put that into a kunena message [*map zoom=20 type=satellite]-36.8174635,144.2239816[/map] but without the *

What you have added exactly ?

Thanks, I was putting additional zoom sat code towards the end of the string.

Works fine now (sans the *).

Is the vertical "Map Data" bar removable?

And is there any code that will set the altitude by default?

Thanks again

Oh for a neat solution...

You can change the zoom level to modify the altitude

I don't have this vertical bar, maybe your Joomla! template broke the display of maps :
