Hi,

i was wondering if it is possible for a user to set the auto subscribe on/off.

I enabled it as a "global" setting now. But i have some user complaining the hell out of this thing being on by default.
Board is very divided about this. So i was wondering maybe now or in the future is this something i can expect to be able to set in front-end as a user setting?

Same goes for number of post on a page.

Both something that was possible on the ancient XMB forum system i just migrated from.

Very controversial topic. See Automatic subscriptions for some background to this.

@tweb

You mean the option "Check Subscription Box = Yes or No" should be in the profile available?

Was an issue ever created on GitHub for this? I'd be willing to create one if the answer is no. I too very much would love to see a user profile option to allow the user to decide if they want to have the subscription checked or unchecked by default. This would encourage users to post in the forum due to many forgetful people missing the subscribe checkbox on the post reply page. It would also save annoyance for others who do not wish to be notified over email.

Hi Josh,

We fixed the issue on Kunena 4.0.5.
You can set "auto subscribe" on the edit user setting.

Also on profile page, you can see already the active subscriptions.
frontend - kunena - profile - Subscriptions tab.

by default "new users" get the default option, set on the configuration setting.

Wow! I am very excited about this. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: A huge thanks to you guys for adding this little addition. It means a lot to me. I'll have to be sure to test out Kunena 5 when the beta comes out and help you guys with finding issues as well as a little bit of code help. :)
