You should fix your MySQL collation issues.

If "everything was fine" before you used the template from www.templatekunena.com , I recommend that you pursue your enquiries there.

I also recommend that you consider the possibility that Artio SEF may be contributing to your problems. Many users have reported difficulties with Artio SEF in the past and many of the problems were resolved by uninistalling that product. That might be something that you need to consider. I hope this helps.

I was getting a few 500 errors regarding the site.. I have since upgraded kunena to the latest version and I cannot load my site unless the forum is turned OFF now.

Well I had to do a complete restore to my site. I can't afford to have this down for the next 24 hours trying to get it worked out. I'm hoping there's an answer to this as I'd like to upgrade but not at the expense of late night restores... So at this point I will be very tentative to do an upgrade.
