Question Forum Meta page titles have changed

Hi
I can't actually see any meta title tags when in the kunena component on my site, yours or this one.
It seems that there is no meta title (<meta name="title" content="...) generated when in the kunena component pages.
It looks to me like the search results in google are being generated by the text in the title tags (to be clear - not meta title tags). Which for my site on 1.6.2 is fine as the title tags relate to the subject of the thread. On your site and this they seem to be static text.

I agree with you, I think this is a problem. Unfortunately I don't understand enough about the way kunena works to know where to look for the change between 1.6.2 and 1.6.3. I think it needs a developers eye.

Hi,

I can confirm the title has changed. I am not sure what happened here, or why this change made it into the code.

We are looking into it.

Thx!

Great! Hopefully someone will come up with a solution. Strange how it only happens to a few websites and not all

I've noticed that the page headings have gone back to normal now on the kunena forum. Have you found the reason why this was happening, or have you disabled page headings in the kunena menu?

From discussions with the development team, it appears that this issue is a software programming mistake that has been corrected in K 1.6.4.

Actually fixing meta tags is pretty simple:

Joomla administration:
Menus >> Kunena Menu
Select "Forum"
Parameters (System) >> Show the Page Title = No

Repeat that to all Kunena menu items (where you see wrong title)

I have not yet installed the update.

Does it matter if changing the parameter system is done after the update is installed?

I would change that before upgrading Kunena IF you have changed/saved kunena menu items.

Bug doesn't exists as long as you haven't changed the menu. Actually this bug exists because of Joomla inconsistency -- in our testing environments we couldn't reproduce the bug because of nobody had customized their menu.
