TOPIC: Strange characters (not people!) on every post

Strange characters (not people!) on every post 2 years ago #1

I notice a couple of spurious characters appear where a post heading spills on to 2 lines. Please see attached image. Are they supposed to be there?

Maybe it's this image?

It doesn't look like it - there are 2 characters - see the image I posted with the thread. One is a horizontal bar, the other a horisontal bar with two downward pointing serifs. Thanks.

It's pixel to pixel match to my image above (well, if you hide center). So yes -- you are seeing the image, but for some reason it is partially hidden.

I think Matias is on the right track: your image may be the result of some other HTML element that's partially occluding the "square" image. Using Firebug for Firefox will help you to pinpoint the HTML elements on your screen. If you can't figure it out for yourself, would you be able to provide us with the URL of your site (and a test account, if you have not permitted public access to view your forum)?

the site is www.staffierescuescotland.co.uk. Could you simply register, sign in and take it from there?

Thanks for all your help.

I'm sorry. We do not register ourselves - on principle - with user sites.

I mis-typed the site URL - it should be www.staffierescuescotland.co.uk

I think you said in your email you do not now need to register - if you need a test account let me know and I will set one up.

How do I PM you privately if I need to?

Thanks.

I apologise for taking so long to reply to this topic. The good news is, this is what I see:

I think the problem lies with your browser. I looked at your website with Firefox 3.5.7 and Internet Explorer 8. No difference.
