What is the php.ini file ?

The php.ini file like his name show you, is an important file for set the php server and for customize php settings like you want. The location of the php.ini file depends if you are using windows or linux, you need to have a webserver and you need to start searching in your webserver.

If you using some hosting services the most of time you can't access to the php.ini file, but you can see his content by using the special function in php nammed phpinfo() :

Where i can find the php.ini file ?

There is an easy way to locate the php.ini, just open the phpinfo and read it untill you find this line :

Locate php.ini throw the phpinfo

Now, you can open the php.ini and edit it, but in some envirronements like shared hosting, you no access to the php.ini.

You can too edit the .htacess and add your new settings like :

php_value memory_limit 32M

This method will only work if PHP is running as an Apache module.

In some shared hosting environments, access to the PHP memory limit setting is restricted or others php.ini settings. If you cannot make the change yourself, please ask your hosting provider to adjust it for you, or look for a new host that allows more flexibility.
